The Doctor Who Experience Photos Released

The official Doctor Who website has released a gallery of photos from the Doctor Who Experience, which opens in London this weekend. The event has been described as “the ultimate Doctor Who Adventure”, and is part immersive experience, part interactive exhibition. Specially written scenes featuring Matt Smith as the Doctor, fiendishly inventive sets, and incredible effects conspire to make the Doctor Who Experience more than just an exhibition.

The premise of the immersive adventure is to take visitors through their very own journey across time and space, helping the Doctor, dealing with Daleks and whirling through a breath-taking world. There will be three TARDIS sets on views, as well as classic monsters and mementoes from the show itself.

The Doctor Who Experience gallery can be viewed here.

Sontarans Return in Doctor Who Series 6

A photo of the filming at Lafarge Cement Aberthaw has revealed that there will be an appearance from the Sontaran race in Matt Smith’s second series, which is due to begin in April. It is believed that the filming was for Matthew Graham’s two-part story ‘The Rebel Flesh’ and ‘Gangers’, which are positioned as the fifth and sixth episodes of the series.

It is currently unknown whether the Sontarans are the main enemies of the story, or if there is just a cameo appearance from this single Sontaran Warrior. However, the Sontarans do fit in with what we already know about the plot for this episode, as there have been mentions of clones.

Jimmy Vee Returns to Doctor Who Series 6

The Evening Times has revealed that the actor Jimmy Vee is returning to Doctor Who for a story that is being filmed this year, although details of who or what he’s playing are being kept top secret. Jimmy has played many roles on the show and has already acted alongside the Ninth, Tenth and Eleventh Doctors. He is probably best known for the role of Bannakaffalatta in ‘Voyage of the Damned’ and the recurring Graske and Groske monsters.

“The 3ft 8in Glasgow performer has appeared in half a dozen episodes of the cult sci-fi show, and even joined the Australian pop icon in the Christmas special three years ago. He also played a goblin in the first Harry Potter film and is regularly called on for parts in kid’s Doctor Who spin-off, The Sarah Jane Adventures.”

Monster Watch: The Pandorica Opens 4

Three is the magic number, or so I'm told by a trustworthy source. But did you notice that the pictures of the returning monsters in 'The Pandorica Opens' only show three of any species. Three Daleks, Cybermen and Sycorax can be seen on the photos, with the arm of a third Silurian visible on another photo.

Perhaps it's a coincidence, but with Doctor Who nothing ever is...
