FACT: Air was pumped into the Tractators’ costumes during filming breaks as they were insufficiently ventilated for the hot conditions.

DESCRIPTION: ‘Warriors’ Gate’ was the fifth story of Season 18 of Doctor Who, and starred Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor.

FACT: The director Paul Joyce was fired halfway through production due to various problems and was replaced by Graeme Harper, before Joyce was re-hired.

DESCRIPTION: ‘They Keep Killing Suzie’ was the eighth story in the first series of Torchwood, and starred John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness.

FACT: The second victim can be seen breathing whilst the camera pans over the couple lying on the bed the second time.

A Matter of Time: Richard Hurndall

(03/11/1910 – 13/04/1984)

DESCRIPTION: Richard Hurndall played the role of the First Doctor in ‘The Five Doctors’, acting as a replacement to the late William Hartnell.

FACT: When Tom Baker decided not to appear in the programme, Hurndall’s role was increased so that the First Doctor took a greater part in the action.

FACT: The “pigment dispersal” scene where Leela’s eyes change colour was created so that Louise Jameson did not have to continue wearing brown contact lenses.
