FACT: The costume for the humanoid stage of the Krynoid was created by taking one of the Axon costumes from ‘The Claws of Axos’ and spraying it green.

DESCRIPTION: ‘Warriors’ Gate’ was the fifth story of Season 15 of Doctor Who, and starred Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor.

FACT: The Minyan spacecraft set turned out to be more expensive than anticipated, so nearly all of the other scenes were created using CSO backgrounds.

A Matter of Time: Wendy Padbury

DESCRIPTION: Wendy Padbury played the character of Zoe Heriot between ‘The Wheel in Space’ and ‘The War Games’.

FACT: Padbury worked as a theatrical agent, with Nicholas Courtney, Colin Baker and Mark Strickson among her clients.

A Matter of Time: Planet of Giants

DESCRIPTION: ‘Planet of Giants’ was the first story of Season 2 of Doctor Who, and starred William Hartnell as the First Doctor.

FACT: Although the sink is emptied and the plug is placed upon a bench in Episode 2, the plug is back in the sink providing a method of escape in Episode 3.

A Matter of Time: The Pirate Planet

DESCRIPTION: ‘The Pirate Planet’ was the second story of Season 16 of Doctor Who, and starred Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor.

FACT: The Doctor’s accident with the TARDIS console early in the story was staged to explain Baker’s real-life cut lip, which was due to a dog bite.

Doctor Who Magazine Special Edition 26 Cover

The cover for the Doctor Who Magazine Special Edition 26 has now been revealed, and shows the Doctor and Amy striking a dramatic pose in front of an album of enemies from Series 5 of Doctor Who.

The magazine includes the official guide to the previous series, as well as 100 pages of new and exclusive information and pictures.

This special edition magazine will be available from 7th October 2010.

A Matter of Time: Time and the Rani

DESCRIPTION: ‘Time and the Rani’ was the first story of Season 24 of Doctor Who, and also introduced Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor.

FACT: This was the first story to feature computer generated images for the titles sequence, and many other effects including the TARDIS’s flight through space.
