The official Forbidden Planet website has revealed information about two new highly-detailed maxi busts of the Third Doctor and a Weeping Angel, the latest editions to the exclusive maxi bust range.

These new figures are available to pre-order at the discount price of £49.99 each from Forbidden Planet, and are expected to arrive at their warehouse on 28th August this year.

Doctor Who – Fourth Doctor, Fifth Doctor, Leela and Tegan Outfits

The official Forbidden Planet website has released information about four new Doctor Who outfits, which are designed to look like the costumes of the Fourth Doctor, Leela, the Fifth Doctor and Tegan. These new outfits are available to pre-order at the price of £39.99 from Forbidden Planet, and are expected to arrive at their warehouse on 15th July 2011.

Unfortunately the Tegan outfit is no longer listed on the Forbidden Planet website, but the Fourth Doctor, Fifth Doctor and Leela outfits are still available via these highlighted links.

Doctor Who A Christmas Carol Soundtrack News

The previously announced release of the soundtrack for ‘A Christmas Carol’ has been delayed, and will now be available to buy in the United Kingdom from 21st March 2011. The CD company Silva Screen have not given a reason for this delay yet, and have not released the track listings of the CD.

The release will include the exclusive carol composed by Murray Gold and performed by Katherine Jenkins and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. The CD is available to pre-order from Amazon at the price of £8.99.

The official Forbidden Planet website has revealed information about a new highly-detailed maxi bust of a classic Cyberman, the latest edition to the exclusive maxi bust range.

Doctor Who The Sontaran Experiment - Exclusive Action Figure Set

The official Forbidden Planet website has released information about a new action figure set for ‘The Sontaran Experiment’, which includes the Fourth Doctor, Sontaran Field-Major Styre, and the spherical Sontaran ship.

“The Fourth Doctor, Sarah Jane Smith and Harry Sullivan arrive on a desolate and apparently deserted Earth to discover that a group of shipwrecked astronauts from a human colony, GalSec, have been lured there by a fake distress call!”

The new set is now available to pre-order at the price of £34.99 from Forbidden Planet, and is expected to arrive at their warehouse on 20th February 2011.

The Classic Doctor Who Documentaries DVDs

The first episode of the Classic Doctor Who Documentaries is now available to pre-order from The Doctor Who Times website, and will be released on DVD from 26th February 2011.

The first DVD release includes a 40-minute long documentary about the Tenth Doctor, as portrayed by David Tennant, and also talks about the enemies that he faced during his tenure. The DVD comes with the first part of an exclusive mini adventure featuring the Eleventh Doctor, which will be released in four parts over each of the DVD releases.

The DVD is available to pre-order at a small cost of £2.50 for a limited time, and will then cost £3.99 after 24th January 2011. The price includes the cost of producing the DVD and postage, and at least 12p from every payment will go to Age UK, a British charity helping the elderly.

The Classic Doctor Who Documentaries DVDs

The Doctor Who Times has announced that there will be an exclusive new project on his site next year, where every three months you will have the opportunity to watch documentaries about classic Doctors and monsters from the series. The projects kicks off with the Tenth Doctor on 13th February 2011, which will be available to watch for 2 days online and then released on DVD.

The DVD will be available for pre-order in January 2011 and will cost a small fee of £3.99, which includes the cost of producing the DVD and postage. More information about the project will be released here.

Doctor Who 'Resurrection of the Daleks' Action Figure Set

The official Forbidden Planet website has released information about a new ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’ action figure set, which includes the Fifth Doctor, Davros, a grey Drone Dalek and the black Supreme Dalek.

“The TARDIS, with the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Turlough on board, becomes caught in a time corridor. Once freed it materialises in London in 1984 near the exit of the corridor. Upon investigating warehouses nearby, the travellers stumble upon a trap set for them by the Daleks!

Meanwhile, in the future at the other end of the time corridor, a Dalek battle cruiser attacks an obsolete Earth prison station in deep space to free Davros, their creator. Held in suspended animation aboard the station for over ninety years, the Daleks aim is to get his help in finding an antidote to a virus deadly only to Daleks. The virus was created by a race of humanoid robots called Movellans who have been at war with the Daleks for centuries.”

Doctor Who Seventh Doctor Action Figure

The official Forbidden Planet website has revealed that a single action figure of the Seventh Doctor will be released later this month, wearing his hat, cream jacket and umbrella as seen in ‘Time and the Rani’. The figure was previously released in an exclusive set with the white Imperial Dalek.

“Mercurial and highly moral, this Doctor would often despair at the cruelty and wastefulness he encountered across the galaxies. On a trip to America in 1999, he was accidentally gunned down by a street gang and taken to hospital, where the procedures taken to try and save him did the reverse and he seemingly died, only to regenerate within the hospital’s morgue…”

The new figure is now available to pre-order at the price of £14.99 from Forbidden Planet, and is expected to arrive at their warehouse on 13th December 2010.

Doctor Who Christmas Adventure Set 2010

A high-quality image of the previously announced Amy Pond kissogram action figure has been released online, showing it as part of the ‘Christmas Adventure Set’ along with the Eleventh Doctor and his new TARDIS.

The figure of the Doctor included in this set has a light brown shirt, with a slightly altered tweed jacket. Amy Pond is wearing her kissogram policewoman outfit as seen in ‘The Eleventh Hour’, which was made into a figure due to high demand.

The Christmas Adventure Set 2010 is now available to pre-order from the official Forbidden Planet website at the price of £26.99, and is expected to arrive at their warehouse on 20th December 2010.

Doctor Who Peri and Sil 'Vengeance on Varos' Action Figure Set

The official Forbidden Planet website has released information about a new ‘Vengeance on Varos’ action figure set, which includes the Sixth Doctor’s companion Peri Brown and the sly reptilian Sil. This is the first set to contain a companion from the classic era of Doctor Who.

“The Sixth Doctor and Peri visit the planet Varos to obtain supplies of a rare ore called Zeiton 7, vital to the functioning of the TARDIS. Varos was once a colony for the criminally insane and the descendants of the original guards still rule, while the poverty-stricken people are kept entertained by screenings of public torture from the Punishment Dome.

Their Governor has been trying to negotiate a better export price for zeiton ore from Sil, an envoy of the Galatron Mining Corporation, whose reptilian body is supported and kept cool by a mobile water tank.”

Doctor Who 'A Christmas Carol' DVD Cover

A draft of the cover artwork for the DVD release of ‘A Christmas Carol’ has now been revealed, and shows the promotional image of the Eleventh Doctor with Kazran Sardick and Abigail. This release will include special features of the ‘Doctor Who Confidential Christmas Special 2010’ and ‘Doctor Who at the Proms 2010’.

‘A Christmas Carol’ is released on 24th January 2011 in the United Kingdom, and is now available to pre-order from Amazon at the discount price of £9.69.

Doctor Who The Mutants DVD Cover Revealed

The cover artwork for the DVD release of ‘The Mutants’ has now been revealed, and shows the Third Doctor swarmed by mutants as seen in the story whilst holding a flaming torch. This story will be the second to be released on DVD in 2011, after the Fourth Doctor story ‘Meglos’.

‘The Mutants’ is released on 31st January 2011 in the United Kingdom, and is now available to pre-order from Amazon at the discount price of £14.99.

Doctor Who Meglos DVD Cover and Pre-Order

The cover artwork for the DVD release of ‘Meglos’ has now been revealed, and shows the Fourth Doctor covered in green spikes as seen in the story. This image will appear on the United Kingdom release of the DVD, although the slightly altered American DVD design can be seen here.

‘Meglos’ is released on 10th January 2011 in the United Kingdom, and is now available to pre-order from Amazon at the discount price of £12.99.

The Quotable Doctor Who Book – Volume One

It has been announced that a book featuring 2000 biographical and thematic quotations about Doctor Who is to be published next month, called ‘The Quotable Doctor Who’. The book is written by Catherine A. Davies and Colin M. Jarman, and will be published on 7th December 2010.

Volume One will cover quotes from all eleven actors to play The Doctor, all actors to play companions, and executive producers Russell T. Davies and Steven Moffat. The other subjects included in the book are the TARDIS, the sonic screwdriver, and regeneration.

Doctor Who Series 5 Action Figures - Wave 2

The official Forbidden Planet website has released information about five new action figures from Series 5 of Doctor Who, including a Smiler, Vampire, Roman Auton, Dalek Progenitor Guardian, and Prisoner Zero.

These new figures are now available to pre-order at the price of £7.98 each from Forbidden Planet, and are expected to arrive at their warehouse on 1st November 2010.

Brand New Doctor Who Mugs Images Revealed

The official Forbidden Planet website has released information about some new Doctor Who mugs, featuring the faces of different Doctors with enemies from their era. Mugs of the Third, Fifth and Seventh Doctors are now available to pre-order at the price of £4.99.

The Third Doctor and Seventh Doctor mugs are due for release on 21st November 2010, however the Fifth Doctor mug will be released later on 27th March 2011.
