A Matter of Time: Resurrection of the Daleks

DESCRIPTION: ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’ was the fourth story of Season 21 of Doctor Who, and starred Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor.

FACT: Although the story was recorded as four separate episodes, it was broadcast as two 45-minute episodes to avoid clashing with the Winter Olympics.

Doctor Who 'Resurrection of the Daleks' Action Figure Set

The official Forbidden Planet website has released information about a new ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’ action figure set, which includes the Fifth Doctor, Davros, a grey Drone Dalek and the black Supreme Dalek.

“The TARDIS, with the Fifth Doctor, Tegan and Turlough on board, becomes caught in a time corridor. Once freed it materialises in London in 1984 near the exit of the corridor. Upon investigating warehouses nearby, the travellers stumble upon a trap set for them by the Daleks!

Meanwhile, in the future at the other end of the time corridor, a Dalek battle cruiser attacks an obsolete Earth prison station in deep space to free Davros, their creator. Held in suspended animation aboard the station for over ninety years, the Daleks aim is to get his help in finding an antidote to a virus deadly only to Daleks. The virus was created by a race of humanoid robots called Movellans who have been at war with the Daleks for centuries.”

The new set is now available to pre-order at the price of £34.99 from Forbidden Planet, and is expected to arrive at their warehouse on 17th January 2011.

Doctor Who – The Seeds of Death DVD Confirmed for Revisitations 2

The DVD Company 2|Entertain have revealed that the Patrick Troughton story ‘The Seeds of Death’ will be re-released as part of the Revisitations 2 DVD boxset in 2011, along with two other stories.

The story was originally released with very few extras in 2003, but will now join the Jon Pertwee story ‘Carnival of Monsters’ and the Peter Davison story ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’ in this re-release, which will include a higher quality of restoration and more extras.

The DVD commissioning editor Dan Hall also announced that the re-release of ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’ will contain a documentary presented by the Tenth Doctor David Tennant, and will be released in both the four episode and two episode edition.
