Doctor Who A Christmas Carol Soundtrack News

The previously announced release of the soundtrack for ‘A Christmas Carol’ has been delayed, and will now be available to buy in the United Kingdom from 21st March 2011. The CD company Silva Screen have not given a reason for this delay yet, and have not released the track listings of the CD.

The release will include the exclusive carol composed by Murray Gold and performed by Katherine Jenkins and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. The CD is available to pre-order from Amazon at the price of £8.99.

It has been reported that the final viewing figures for ‘A Christmas Carol’ show that the programme was watched by 12.11 million viewers, with a 41.8% share of the total TV Audience. This figure puts Doctor Who as the third most watched programme of Christmas Day.

'A Christmas Carol' is the fourth highest rating for the series since it returned in 2005, behind 'Voyage of the Damned', 'The Next Doctor' and 'The End of Time', and is also the most watched story during Matt Smith’s tenure as the Eleventh Doctor.

Doctor Who 'A Christmas Carol' Poll Results

The poll for this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special, ‘A Christmas Carol’, showed that the average rating out of five stars was 4.7 stars, meaning that this story was thought of as ‘Excellent’.

The cover for Doctor Who Adventures 198 has now been revealed and shows what can be expected from the issue. The magazine has got loads of extra information about ‘A Christmas Carol’ this week, and includes a list of the greatest moments from the special episode. Doctor Who ‘A Christmas Carol’ Viewing Figures

The overnight viewing figures for this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special, ‘A Christmas Carol’, showed that the programme was watched by 10.3 million viewers, the highest overnight result for an episode during Matt Smith’s tenure as the Eleventh Doctor.

The share of the audience was 39.8%, and it was the second highest rated programme of the day. The final viewing figures will be released in January 2011, and will also show the amount of viewers who watched the episode on BBC iPlayer.

BBC Christmas 2010 Doctor Who Promo

The BBC has released official promotional photos with actors from their top shows to appear over the Christmas season, including one of Matt Smith as the Doctor.

The promotional photos show a background of an airport, which appears in the new sitcom by Matt Lucas and David Walliams, ‘Come Fly With Me’, another top show for BBC One over Christmas. A trailer for the new programme with a guest appearance from a Dalek was released earlier in the week.
