The Doctor Who Companion - The Eleventh Doctor Volume 2 Cover Revealed

Doctor Who Magazine have revealed the cover image which will appear on Volume Two of their special edition release of ‘The Doctor Who Companion – The Eleventh Doctor’.

The magazine will be released on 30th December 2010, and features 500 pages of new and exclusive information and pictures. The magazine shows the reader how the series was made, and gives details about how certain effects were achieved to make the stories as successful as they were.

It has been reported that Karen Gillan features on the front cover of this week’s Shortlist Magazine, which is handed out every week in major cities across the United Kingdom, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Glasgow. How does it feel being a role model?

“That’s a tricky one. You’ve got to get the right balance I think. You can’t live your life thinking about how it’s going to affect everybody else. You’ve got to have your own life and do what you want to do, but it is something I take into consideration and I wouldn’t want to fall around drunk or anything.”

What’s it like working with Matt Smith?

“Matt is so focused he really inspires me. That sounds really cheesy, but it’s true. I’ve never met someone so focused and he never slacks off. He’s really driven. And his approach to acting is really creative. Rather than just reeling off the lines, he changes it every time. It’s an intense day. He takes it very seriously, but that’s not to say it’s not fun. In fact, part of our taking it seriously is messing around between takes, because I feel like it’s us staying in character and being silly.”

The Quotable Doctor Who Book – Volume One

It has been announced that a book featuring 2000 biographical and thematic quotations about Doctor Who is to be published next month, called ‘The Quotable Doctor Who’. The book is written by Catherine A. Davies and Colin M. Jarman, and will be published on 7th December 2010.

Volume One will cover quotes from all eleven actors to play The Doctor, all actors to play companions, and executive producers Russell T. Davies and Steven Moffat. The other subjects included in the book are the TARDIS, the sonic screwdriver, and regeneration.
