FACT: Although the story was recorded as four separate episodes, it was broadcast as two 45-minute episodes to avoid clashing with the Winter Olympics.

FACT: A section of the closing title sequence appears in the background on the screen of the Daleks’ mind analysis machine in Episode Three.

A Matter of Time: The Time Warrior

DESCRIPTION: ‘The Time Warrior’ was the first story of Season 11 of Doctor Who, and starred Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor.

FACT: This was the first story to reveal the name of the Doctor’s home planet as Gallifrey, and it was originally called ‘Galfrey’ in the script.

A Matter of Time: The Waters of Mars

DESCRIPTION: ‘The Waters of Mars’ was the second story of the 2009 Doctor Who Specials, and starred David Tennant as the Tenth Doctor.

FACT: This story was initially written as a Christmas special entitled ‘Red Christmas’, with several festive references remaining in the finished episode.

A Matter of Time: Warriors of Kudlak

DESCRIPTION: ‘Warriors of Kudlak’ was the third story in Series 1 of ‘The Sarah Jane Adventures’, and stars Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith.

FACT: This story marked the first appearance of the Uvodni race, who would briefly return as part of the Alliance in ‘The Pandorica Opens’.

A Matter of Time: Jack Woolgar

DESCRIPTION: Jack Woolgar played the character of Staff Sergeant Arnold in the popular Patrick Troughton story ‘The Web of Fear’.

FACT: Staff Sergeant Arnold was killed in the fight against the Great Intelligence, and his body was taken over by the sinister force.

A Matter of Time: The Reign of Terror

DESCRIPTION: ‘The Reign of Terror’ was the last story of Season 1 of Doctor Who, and starred William Hartnell as the First Doctor.

FACT: This was the first Doctor Who story to feature filming on location, however none of these shots included cast regulars.
