Doctor Who Series 6 Filming in Charlestown

The Sun newspaper reported about the recent filming at Charlestown in Cornwall for the third episode in Series 6, which saw Karen Gillan fighting with pirates and swinging from ropes. The article includes some high quality photos of the Doctor and Amy in action, and can be read in full here.

“The flame-haired companion, played by 23-year-old Karen Gillan, brandished a cutlass while dressed in a pirate costume, including a tricorn hat and military jacket, while filming last night. But Karen wasn't alone during the scenes shot on a tall ship in Charlestown, Cornwall - she was joined by co-star Matt Smith.

The 28-year-old, who plays time travelling alien the Doctor, seemed to be having an easier time during filming than Karen. While Matt - dressed in his usual Doctor's costume of tweed jacket and bow tie - stayed mostly on the ship's deck, Karen was forced to try swinging across the boat from its rigging. Later scenes seem to show the Doctor being forced to walk the plank by the scurvy seadogs.”

The Sun Claim "Amy Pond Dies in Series 6"

The Sun newspaper has rumoured that Amy Pond will die at the end of the first half of Series 6, which could explain the dramatic cliffhanger that Steven Moffat had previously teased fans about.

However, The Sun is famous for getting Doctor Who news incorrect on a regular basis, so the likelihood of this story being true is small.
