Doctor Who Matthew Graham Writes for Series 6

The latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine has revealed that Matthew Graham will be writing a two-part story for Series 6, which will form Episodes 5 and 6 of the new series. Graham previously wrote the much despised story ‘Fear Her’, which was voted as the worst story of the revived series of Doctor Who in the magazine's poll of episodes last year.

This makes the announcement that he will be writing for the new series quite surprising, although Steven Moffat does highly praise the work that he has done on the two-parter. Moffat says that Graham has "given us a thrilling and terrifying two-parter. The Doctor will face a dilemma the like of which he’s never seen before."

A comical preview of a production meeting on his episodes suggest that the Doctor will have a flashback of Sarah Jane Smith with the Daleks on Skaro, which has led to some people speculating that the Daleks will return in this two-part story. However, it is always hard to tell with Steven Moffat what is and isn’t true, so this should all be taken as speculation for the moment.

A Matter of Time: Fear Her

ORIGINAL BROADCAST: 24/06/2006
DOCTOR: David Tennant
COMPANIONS: Billie Piper

STORY: The Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler arrive at Dame Kelly Holmes Close, on the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics. The neighbourhood is preparing for the passing of the Olympic torch-bearer, but the mood has been destroyed by the strange disappearances of several local children. Prepare to face the scribble…

FACTS:
• The Doctor tells Rose that he was once a father, presumably referencing the mother of his granddaughter Susan Foreman, who had travelled alongside him in his first incarnation.
• This episode was produced at a very late stage in production, in order to replace a planned but unwritten script by Stephen Fry.
• An early draft of this episode was entitled “You’re a Bad Girl, Chloe Webber”, with another draft even having the episode take place on another planet.
