DESCRIPTION: ‘The Three Doctors’ was the first story of Season 10 of Doctor Who, and starred Jon Pertwee as the Third Doctor.

FACT: William Hartnell was too ill to play a more active role in the story, so his scenes were filmed in Ealing Television Film Studios with cue cards.

A Matter of Time: Silver Nemesis

DESCRIPTION: ‘Silver Nemesis’ was the third story of Season 25 of Doctor Who, and starred Sylvester McCoy as the Seventh Doctor.

FACT: Prince Edward was asked to appear in this story by John Nathan Turner, but the Royal Family wrote a letter back declaring that it would be inappropriate.

A Matter of Time: Sydney Newman

DESCRIPTION: Sydney Newman was a Canadian film and television producer who played a large part in the creation of Doctor Who in 1963.

FACT: Newman created the idea of a time machine that was larger on the inside than on the out, and the character of the mysterious “Doctor”.

A Matter of Time: Rula Lenska

DESCRIPTION: Rula Lenska played the character of Styles in the popular Peter Davison story ‘Resurrection of the Daleks’.

FACT: She later played The Hornet Queen in the Big Finish audio stories ‘A Sting in the Tale’ and ‘Hive of Horror’, which featured Tom Baker as the Doctor.

A Matter of Time: Terror of the Zygons

DESCRIPTION: ‘Terror of the Zygons’ was the first story of Season 13 of Doctor Who, and starred Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor.

FACT: This story was Nicholas Courtney’s final appearance as the Brigadier for almost eight years, and also marks the final regular appearance of Harry Sullivan.
