FACT: Whilst filming the kiss between Jack and Ianto, the crew pulled a prank by not calling “Cut!” after they had stopped filming for two minutes.

A Matter of Time: The Enemy of the World

DESCRIPTION: ‘The Enemy of the World’ was the fourth story of Season 5 of Doctor Who, and starred Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor.

FACT: The story had such a small budget that Denes is kept prisoner in a corridor, so that a prison set was not needed to be constructed.

A Matter of Time: State of Decay

DESCRIPTION: ‘State of Decay’ was the fourth story of Season 18 of Doctor Who, and starred Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor.

FACT: The story was originally planned to open Season 15, but was cancelled as the BBC was preparing to begin a major drama about Dracula.

A Matter of Time: Scream of the Shalka

DESCRIPTION: ‘Scream of the Shalka’ was a flash-animated Doctor Who story, and starred Richard E. Grant as the voice of an alternative Ninth Doctor.

FACT: This story was produced to coincide with the 40th Anniversary of Doctor Who, and was originally intended to be an official continuation of the series.

A Matter of Time: Ian Stuart Black

DESCRIPTION: Ian Stuart Black was a writer for Doctor who in the 1960s, with his stories including ‘The Savages’, ‘The War Machines’ and ‘The Macra Terror’.

FACT: He created the popular concepts of WOTAN, the War Machines and the Macra, which are all still highly regarded.

A Matter of Time: Alan Bromly

(13/09/1915 – September 1995)

DESCRIPTION: Alan Bromly was the director of ‘The Time Warrior’ and ‘Nightmare of Eden’ in the classic series of Doctor Who.

FACT: During the recording of ‘Nightmare of Eden’, Graham Williams decided to dispense with Alan Bromly’s services, and directed the remainder himself.

A Matter of Time: Bartlett Mullins

DESCRIPTION: Bartlett Mullins played the alien character of the Second Elder in the popular William Hartnell story ‘The Sensorites’.

FACT: He appeared in many other popular productions during his lifetime, including police show ‘Z-Cars’ and the film ‘The Quatermass Xperiment'.
