It has been revealed that the Seventh Doctor Sylvester McCoy will play the character of Radagast the Brown in the upcoming film ‘The Hobbit’. Rumours about McCoy’s involvement in the Peter Jackson film have been around for a while, but this is the first conformation from the actor that he has been offered a role.McCoy was offered the role last week at a meeting in Wellington, which took place with Peter Jackson and the co-producer and co-writer Philippa Boyens. The Hobbit is expected to be released in two parts, with the first due for release in 2012.
