Torchwood Series 4 Confirmed
After a year since the last series of Torchwood, the future of the show was looking doubtful after FOX pulled out of an agreement about the series. However, today saw a surprise announcement from the BBC, announcing a three-way co-production partnership that will develop a new series, set to go into production later this year and will be shown in 2011.
The 10-episode series will be written by a team led by Torchwood creator Russell T Davies, and produced by BBC Worldwide productions. John Barrowman and Eve Myles will return in their lead roles as Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper, along with new members joining the team.
While previous series were based on location in Cardiff, this new series will see storylines widen to include locations in the US and around the world. Torchwood will burst back onto the screen with a shocking and moving story with global stakes and locations that will make it feel bigger and bolder than ever.
