Doctor Who 'The Eleventh Hour' Most Watched on BBC iPlayer

The BBC have announced that Matt Smith’s first full episode as the Eleventh Doctor, ‘The Eleventh Hour’, was the most watched programme on BBC iPlayer this year. Official figures show that the story has been streamed 2.2 million times since it was originally broadcast on 3rd April 2010.

The first episode of Steven Moffat’s ‘Sherlock’ series, ‘A Study in Pink’, was watched 1.4 million times on BBC iPlayer, another very high figure for the year. The BBC’s video-on-demand service was launched in 2007, and celebrates its third birthday on Christmas Day.
