It was revealed today that Matt Smith has been awarded a Guinness World Record for being the youngest actor to play The Doctor, as he started playing the role when he was aged just 26. Peter Davison was 29 when he played the Fifth Doctor in 1982, making him the second youngest actor to play the famous Time Lord.
The Guinness World Records 2011 features other Doctor Who records, including ‘Longest Running Science Fiction Series’, ‘Most Successful Science Fiction Series’, and ‘Longest Running Magazine Based on a Television Series’.
