Today is the twenty-third birthday of Karen Gillan, the Scottish actress who currently playing the role of Amy Pond in Doctor Who. Her first appearance in Doctor Who was as a Soothsayer in ‘The Fires of Pompeii’, before she was given the role of the Eleventh Doctor’s companion Amy Pond.Gillan's early TV acting career included guest appearances on several dramatic TV series, with her first ongoing role being a member of the cast in ‘The Kevin Bishop Show’, in which she played multiple comedy characters.
She has become very famous for her excellent portrayal as the character of Amy Pond, and will hopefully stay in the TARDIS for years to come.
