Robert James was a Scottish actor, who was best known for his television work. He was born in Paisley in Scotland and trained to be a lawyer, before being spotted by a professional director while doing amateur dramatics. He was married to actress Mona Bruce until his death, and they had one child together.
• Robert James played Lesterson in the Patrick Troughton story ‘The Power of the Daleks’.
• He later went on to play the High Priest in the Tom Baker story ‘The Masque of Mandragora’.
• Robert James died in 2004, aged 80, from Alzheimer’s disease.
