Two years ago today, the Doctor and his companion Donna returned to the present day on Earth, where they discovered mysterious occurrences at an ATMOS factory, and met up with some old friends and enemies. This story starred David Tennant as the tenth Doctor, Catherine Tate as Donna Noble, and Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones.
This episode features the return of the Sontarans, who last appeared in the 1985 story ‘The Two Doctors’, and the Doctor’s previous companion Martha Jones, who is now working for UNIT after deciding to leave the Doctor. The location of the episode was deliberately chosen to be Earth, as the majority of previous Sontaran stories had also been set on Earth, albeit in different times and countries.
The opening scene, which shows the ATMOS system driving a car into the canal, was filmed at the Cardiff docks. The scene involved a car-cannon being used to propel the car into the water. The scene was also required to be completed in one shot, as the set-up would take too long for a second attempt. The car fired into the canal was removed immediately after the shooting, in order to clear the shipping route.

This is one of my fave aventures with the part 2 the poison sky. "How did he get in? Intruder window.." and the doc hitting staal on the back with the ball!
