A Matter of Time: Midnight

ORIGINAL BROADCAST: 14/06/2008
DOCTOR: David Tennant
COMPANIONS: Catherine Tate

STORY: The Tenth Doctor leaves Donna Noble at a relaxing spa on the planet Midnight, so that he can travel on the shuttle bus to see the Sapphire Waterfall. However, every single traveller on the cruise soon faces danger, when the knocking begins on the walls, and a passenger begins to repeat every word…

FACTS:
• This is the first story since the Tom Baker story ‘Genesis of the Daleks’ where the TARDIS does not make an appearance.
• The location concept of an enclosed leisure palace on a deadly but beautiful planet was used previously in ‘The Leisure Hive’ in 1980.
• David Troughton, who plays the character of Professor Hobbes, is the son of the actor to play the Second Doctor, Patrick Troughton. He was a very late replacement for Sam Kelly, who broke his leg and had to withdraw from the production.
