A Matter of Time: Leonard Sachs


(26/09/1909 – 15/06/1990)

Leonard Sachs was a British television and film actor, who had a very successful career during his lifetime, appearing as leading parts in many productions from the 1930s to the 1980s. He also made two appearances in Doctor Who, acting alongside both William Hartnell and Peter Davison.

• Sachs played the character of Admiral Gaspard de Coligny in ‘The Massacre of St Bartholomew's Eve’ in 1966.
• He later played Lord President Borusa in ‘Arc of Infinity’ in 1983, which was his final television performance.
• Sachs died in London in 1990, at the age of 80.
